“What shall we then say to these things?

“If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31 (KJV)

Born-again Christians know that there is no defeat with God. No one or anything can rival His power and change His purpose for those who trust Him. He is worthy of praise because He is the source of our being and prosperity. And for His purpose, we live our lives.

Today, we can claim victory. If God is for us, nothing will stop us.

I wrote the following poem as a response to “What shall we then say to these things?”

What Shall Believers Say?

What shall we say to what God has done?
Before we knew ourselves, we were first foreknown.
God knew us, out of time, before we were born.
What shall we say to the promise God has kept?
Before dying on the cross for our sins, for Lazarus, Jesus wept.
And what shall we say to the victory He has won?
We are predestined for salvation through Jesus Christ; God’s risen son.
What shall we say to the believer’s call?
We are called in the image of God’s son.
Christ says, love your neighbor, each and every one.
What shall we say to the believer’s call?
God alone is to be glorified,
for food, shelter, and all that he provides.
What shall we say to the believer’s call?
It is nothing that we do but all that God gives.
Believers in Christ are justified, and by faith, we live.
What shall we say to all these things?
“If God be for us, who can be against us?”
He is the sovereign God and king.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 (KJV).

This is one thing all Christians should know and believe.

“If God be for us, who can be against us?”
