There’s nothing as inspiring as seeing children express and demonstrate their beliefs and character relative to humanity and God.

I’ve always thought that most people, children included, are reflections of their upbringing and environment. But I believe people can change even if their teachings were wrong or their environment was loveless.

My parents taught me to love everybody because God not only loves me but everyone else too. As adults, we should be good loving role models and road maps for children to follow.

Our humanity depends on it.

Social justice and equity depend on it.

Our children’s’ future depends on it.

If we teach today’s and tomorrow’s children about God and His love, children will grow up to be loving adults.

Maybe we can eliminate racism.

Sometimes children can and do inspire us to do and be better.

Our children want to make a contribution and help during these challenging times. I’ve seen inspirational stories of kids making face masks, sending food boxes, and other things to help those impacted by the virus and the economic downturn due to Covid-19.

The kids want to do something; they want to be heard and seen. The children of all colors matter.

My granddaughters participated in a Black Lives Matter march to protest racism against African Americans.

Now, how inspiring is that?

Children should be taught the truth about the past and present of our imperfect union or democracy. But more importantly, teaching children about love and equality for all is like planting a forest where the roots will grow deep and bear more seedlings for countless generations.

My two grands held a sign that said, ‘50% black, 50% white, 100 % love.’

Love is a union between Christ and an individual of any race or color. With Christ or 100% love, you can stamp out hate.

One hundred percent love will respect others, foster harmony, equity, and take you anywhere you want to go in life.

100% love is the model for humankind.

I told Gigi, their great-grandmother, about the sign; her smile couldn’t get any bigger.

My other 2 grands, who are older, discussed taking a knee. They know what’s going on not only with Covid-19 but also the social and racial unrest. Give them a sign; they’re ready to march. Give them a microphone; they’ll speak the eternal truth.

Black Lives Matter. All Lives Matter.

They are kids, but they know what those ex-police officers did.

George Floyd mattered!

The children are our future. What we say and do today is important. If we teach them well, they will lead the way to a better tomorrow.

Let’s prepare today for a brighter tomorrow.

Pray for love and peace.
