This month I get to sing Happy Anniversary to me! Yes, October is my anniversary month as a blogger.

I guess three cheers are in order.

Hip hip! Hooray!  Hip hip! Hooray! Hip hip! Hooray!

And many thanks to you for your clicks and support in reading the many blog posts.

Oh man, 2021 has been a challenging year, and there’re a couple of months to go. To say it has been a long haul from October 2020 is an understatement. So much has happened.

To make it simple, we can put everything in one of three categories: the good, bad, or ugly.

The raging pandemic was and is worse than bad; it’s a nightmare and hideous.

Getting fully vaccinated was definitely great!

And now that I can chase my grands and deliver those expected pre-pandemic Panda hugs, life is better.

Tribalism in America is a train wreck waiting to happen. But let’s pray it doesn’t.

And the greatest deficit in this country is LOVE.

We talked about these things in some of the posts.

Thanks to those who participated in the Zoom book discussions on Sandra Bland 2.0: Racist Policing in America. The challenges blacks face today and tomorrow seem never to change. But we still have hope.

I’m sure your life has been teeming over with all kinds of personal stuff. It is life amid a pandemic. And the pandemic isn’t over.

Just trying to reflect fills me with gratitude and thankfulness to God. I don’t know about you, but my faith in God helps me through it all.

Wow! Bettyhsmith.com is three years old and growing.

I entertained no excuses on October 20, 2018. I had no blogging experience, but I was determined to learn. I remember braving the gray sky and rain to set up at the Bessemer Public Library. Rain, sleet, or snow— thank God there was none of the icy stuff—IT WAS ON!

I had a coming-out party, the launching of an idea, and a new interest to inspire others to achieve their goals and dreams. A small part of the world got to meet bettyhsmith.com. The word was out; bettyhsmith.com had arrived and could be accessed on the world-wide-web.

Wow!

No one ever achieves their dream alone. No one’s dream would be possible without others.

A big anniversary thanks to Javacia Bowser of seejanewritebham.com. And thanks again to family, friends, and other readers who support me and make my dream possible.

My dream wouldn’t be possible without you.

We don’t know how many people we touch and inspire when we fulfill a purpose relative to our ambitions, talents, and gifts.

Here’s to another successful year. It will be successful if we learn, grow, encourage, and support each other.

Thanks again.

Be safe.
