Halloween isn’t just for the in-costume T-Rex and princess-loving children. What about the eight-series-Chucky adults? Goblins, ghosts, witches, and pirates are pretend characters for the children. At least their moms believe this to be true, arming many of them with bloody sickles, knives, and swords.

The little kiddies look so darn cute in their costumes and face paintings. And then comes the reason for their Halloween celebratory season—Trick or Treat!

There’s no spook about this Halloween mystery, what those kids do with all that candy!

Adults could care less about costumes and candy.

Let’s face it, many adults are real gore and horror fans, and not just at Halloween. They feast on the blood, the snap, crackle, and pop of heads, legs, torsos, and other body parts anytime.

But Halloween is a special time to pop candy corn and scare the living daylight out of ourselves. The trepidation mounts, and when you sigh relief, doom strikes! And you know what’s about to happen when someone says, “Hello, is anybody there?”

Whether it’s a haunted house or a horror movie, may the chills and screams be with you.

Don’t you just love the Geico horror movie commercial?

“If you’re in a horror movie, you make poor decisions. That’s what you do.”

I’ll say!

I no longer watch horror movies because of the bloody gore, nightmare potential, and other reasons.

Deciding to hide behind a wall of chainsaws rather than getting into a running car to escape is what horror fans want potential victims to do. Some like their victims sliced, diced, boiled, baked, or fried.

In a horror movie, a Bloody Mary doesn’t just involve Mary but Tom and everyone else in the film. The bloodier, the better.

You can definitely escape to the dark side if that’s what you’re into. During Halloween 2022, theaters and streaming mediums are serving up bloodcurdling sequels and indies to titillate and satisfy blood-thirsty palates. Chainsaws, axes, meat cleavers, sickles, machetes, Scimitars, or swords will get the job done—not to mention 18-wheelers and other vehicles.

Who are these people that create such nightmarish lore? Oh yeah, we call them talented writers and artists.

There’s Studio 666. What a title! Bible students know that six hundred sixty-six (666) is the number and mark of the beast, the devil, Satan, and Antichrist (s).

You can read all about the being and the sign in the Book of Revelation and other parts of the Bible.

Flip Wilson, a famous comedian, was known for the saying, “The devil made me do it.”

The devil is real, and he is reaping havoc in our society. We experience the horror of Halloween throughout the year in America with school, church, concerts, family, and random killings.

We have many monsters in our society. I have no reason to imagine others as fiendish and worse, but I have nothing against celebrating Halloween.

Here’s to a safe Halloween celebration and mounds of candy for the kiddies.

And for us, adults, “How many more months of Halloween this year?’ Jim Gaffigan

Happy Halloween!

Be safe.
