Your ideas or dreams don’t have to be unique to pursue them and create a niche. You are unique, and that’s enough!’
Many people share similar goals and dreams, and they may have similar or the same houses, cars, purses, shoes, and other things.
For example, it is obvious that my idea of starting a blog was not unique. I am one of millions of bloggers with domain names that people can access to check out various topics or content. However, knowing that there are millions of bloggers didn’t discourage me from blogging.
When I created the domain name for my blog, it had to be unique and not a duplicate of an existing website. It so happens that there is only one bettyhsmith.com on the internet. Just as my physical address is where I live, my domain name is my address on the World Wide Web. Domain names are specific internet locations, or internet protocol (IP) addresses, for individuals, groups, and companies’ websites.
Creating a unique site is challenging, but each reflects its owner’s individuality.
I’ve heard people say to someone, even a stranger, “We think alike,” after discovering they have similar ideas, responses, and reactions.
This leads me to wonder: Is there such a thing as an original thought or idea, considering the vast knowledge and experiences accumulated over this vast amount of time?
We have millions of doctors, lawyers, bricklayers, news anchors, photographers, and there will be many more. They may have the same occupation, but each person is unique in their approach and dedication.
An idea is the beginning of everything. I googled this phrase to see if someone has made this same statement.
Napoleon Hill, an American self-help author, said, “Ideas are the beginning points of all fortune.”
Earl Nightengale, a motivational speaker and author, said, “Everything begins with an idea.”
Tshepo, Ramodisa, an actor and writer, said, “In the beginning of everything, there was nothing. But an idea created the rest.”
I wish I had said that!.
Our experiences and reactions often overlap with those of others.
I remember we shared some personal poetry at a work gathering. I read my poem, and someone else read one of theirs. The similarity of subject matter and experiences was surprising.
But every individual is an original.
Our challenges, experiences, reactions, resolutions, and other life happenings aren’t uncommon; therefore, our thoughts, emotions, and ideas are not very different.
With similar social, emotional, physical, and other needs along with common values, beliefs, and cultural interactions, we are not that very different.
In a way, we are independently similar.
We can be who we are with common goals and dreams.
I love the Shriners Hospital commercial when Kaleb says how many times he has broken his bones, then adds, “I didn’t let that stop me!”
With common ideas and goals, we can face external, internal, or personal challenges with determination, commitment, and faith.
Don’t be discouraged. You can find your special place in the vastness of common aspirations and dreams.
Put your unique stamp on it!
I hope that you are happy and well.
