What Happened to What Would Jesus Do (W.W.J.D.)?
America’s moral compass needs recalibrating.
We need a resurgence or revival of W.W.J.D, a morality check.
Is having “good people on both sides,” a new normal?
And what about alternative truths?
These untruths signal a moral decline.
How do we distinguish evil from good?
Those who desire to do as Jesus would do, know good from evil or right from wrong?
We are human, and we make mistakes. But Jesus wants us to do what is right within our human capabilities.
As a popular Christian acronym on a wristband, the W.W.J.D. phrase sparked conversations about Christ-like behaviors during the 1990s.
Wearing the band, signified a moral conscience to make the right decision.
Christian men, women, girls, and boys proudly wore the bracelets.
Have you seen many wearing the W.W.J.D. wristband lately?
Doing what Jesus would do is taking the ‘high road’ which may not be the easy or popular choice.
The wristbands remind Christians to emulate Jesus’ love. It’s an evangelical message to treat others based on Christ’s teachings.
The inscription is indicative of the Golden Rule.
Matthew 7:12 KJV says “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them.”
Or simply put, treat others as you would like to be treated.
If you don’t want anyone to tell a lie about you, don’t tell a lie about anyone.
What Would Jesus Do? It’s a daily mindset and spirit to do good.
You can find and purchase the wristbands at Amazon and other stores. Pick a color: red, blue, black, etc.
But where are those who would honor the W.W.J.D. inscription?
The message emblazoned on the band also needs to be written on the wearers’ hearts.
Showcasing the slogan on a wristband, T-shirt, bumper sticker, or sun visor is easy.
But being Christ-like comes from the heart.
If we do what Jesus would do, good is right, evil is wrong, and there is never an alternative to the truth.
