Like Prissy in Gone with the Wind, many of us know “nothin” about birthing babies.

Maybe you do.

I don’t.

And when I had Christopher, my first child, I didn’t know nothin.

Similarly, many of us know nothing about birthing dreams, the fervent hopes, and ambitions of our souls.

Everyone has a dream.

Do you really believe those who say they don’t?

A dream starts in the mind as a novel but shinning idea or a burning desire. The dream grows in the womb of the heart. And the possibilities become real.

The moving parts are as vivid as the hand in front of your face.

It’s not just your imagination.

Can you feel, smell, taste, and see your success?

If you can, you can birth your dream. You can make your dream a reality.

To birth and live your dream adds pizazz and bling to life. Bling is vibrancy and sparkle. Pizazz is doing it your way.

How, where, and when your dream comes true or becomes a reality depends on you.

But know this.

From dream to reality is a lot of work and dedication. And yes, there will be birthing pains: mistakes, self-criticisms, rejections, and other challenges.

Corporate America is the birthplace of many dreams. Especially for college-graduates who want to be managers, engineers, accountants, etc.

Others enter professions as doctors, nurses, or business entrepreneurs.

What about athletic dreams to play college and professional sports?

Garages are homes to many dreams relative to hobbies and creativity. College or not, these dreamers also want to sparkle.

Regardless of the birthplace, the birthing process can take months—even years.

Don’t let the job market and other factors sabotage or abort your dream.

Are you waiting to birth your dream?

If you can’t do this, do that. If you can’t join a team, fly solo.

For instance, if you can’t work for a newspaper right now, freelance or start a blog. Find a way to live your dream.

Oprah Winfrey said, “Every time you state what you want or believe, you’re the first to hear it. It’s a message to both you and others about what you think is possible. Don’t put a ceiling on yourself.”

Learn from missteps, go around mountains, but never stop working to achieve your dream.
