We don’t celebrate our uniqueness enough.

I am an original; I am special, so are you.

Among the prior generations, the current generation, and future generations, there will never be a duplication of you or me.

Some people may comically spout, “Thank God!”

Yes, let’s thank God!

Psalms 139 of the Bible says that we are “wonderfully made.”

Being wonderfully made, we uniquely impact the environment with our breath and activities. Think about the carbon dioxide we exhale that the plants use to create oxygen. We uniquely affect and influence each other with our interactions, personality, and character. We uniquely impact the world as individual humans.

Countless people have my first name, Betty, and a more alarming number have my last name, Smith. There is nothing rare or unusual about my name. Nevertheless, I wear it proudly because I am one of a kind with a familiar name.

If your name is Olivia, the most popular first name in America, you are unique and wonderfully made. Olivia may claim the prize for the most common first name, but the crown, runway, and cutesy hand-waving belong to me; my last name is Smith.

What about our mini-me?

Many of us boast about having a mini-me. Your look-alike may dress, style their hair, and do other things like you do. Your mini-me, a daughter or friend, may act, smile, laugh, and share other habits that you have. We love our mini-me or smaller versions of ourselves.

What’s the big deal?

Whether we have a common or unusual name, or even a mini-me, we are all as unique as a new day!

Because everyone is unique, we all get to strut our stuff on life’s stage. No one is undeserving of a ticker-tape parade, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

We are born unique; it’s the wonder and mystery of being human, creatures who are born in God’s image. What makes us unique cannot be sufficiently defined or distilled, and there are still discoveries to be made.

Isn’t it amazing that our finger and toe prints are uniquely ours as individuals? Our eyes, ears, teeth, and other parts of our bodies identify who we are.

How do you respond to an interviewer or someone who asks you to tell them something about yourself?

Telling someone, “I am unique, there is no one like me,” isn’t commonplace and is somewhat unusual. Usually, people share their experiences, upbringing, culture, traditions, beliefs, or other things that make them uniquely who they are.

Don’t pour yourself into someone else’s mold to bake in their personality, features, or other characteristics.

You are not a cliché or an unoriginal. Our DNA isn’t a source of conformity.

We may eat the same foods, brush our teeth alike, sleep on the same side of the bed, live in the same house, and even have a twin, but we are individually unique.

Let’s not just accept our uniqueness, let’s celebrate it! Embrace your individuality; it’s what makes us a remarkable creation.

How can we celebrate our uniqueness?

Stand up and stand out, supported by the challenges you overcame, your experiences, your beliefs, and your determination. Showcase your style, use your talents, and allow your passions and unique perspectives to shine. Celebrate your uniqueness by pursuing your passions and sharing your unique perspectives.

Celebrate the best, needy, and evolving parts of yourself. You are a work in progress. Remember that the whole is equal to the sum of its parts. Even our imperfections, our unique quirks and flaws, help make us who we are.

Celebrate the one-of-a-kind you!

Remember, the original is more valuable than a copy.

Embrace your uniqueness, celebrate it, and remember that you are one-of-a-kind.

I hope you are happy and well.
