Philippians 4:6 (NLT) contains the ingredients or “must-haves” for a prosperous new year.
Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.”
God tells us not to worry about the needs, wants, and cares of the world. Worrying signals a breakaway from peace and trust that God can and will take care of us.
Pray; don’t worry about nothing!
Okay, the sentence is grammatically incorrect because it has a double negative—don’t and nothing. But in action, these words yield positive, life-changing results.
Stress be gone! Worries get out of here! Frown lines disappear! Serenity now!
Don’t worry about your weight. Pray for discipline to eat smaller portions and to change eating habits.
Live your faith. You can do it with God’s help. Giving up isn’t an option. Set reasonable and incremental goals. Be patient with yourself. Remember, no lost ounce is too small to celebrate. And don’t forget to thank God for every pound lost.
Worry deforms the mind, spirit, and body.
Prayer renews the mind, spirit, and body.
Many times, we’re don’t have the influence or position to solve a problem, but we can pray for a resolution.
So, don’t worry about the Iran/US conflict, pray.
Other times, we have a part to play in the world, country, state, county, and city theater production of “This is our life.”
.
And don’t worry about the 2020 presidential election or any of the other political races.
.
Pray and vote!
We should plant all of our efforts in the fertile soil of prayer.
Philippians 4:6 is a great memory verse. It’s very easy to remember.
Philippian 4:6 is a great resolution for 2020.
Acknowledge the problem, pray for a plan, implement the plan, and procure the fruits.
Philippians 4:6 is my resolution for 2020.
All resolutions, even this one, are only as good as the commitment to keep them.
Thank God for his Word.
Let us be resolute in prayer and trust God for all things.
